Running a Free eFootball Tournament Outside Nairobi — Nakuru, Thika, Kisii, and Beyond

September 2, 2026

Most guides to organizing eFootball tournaments in Kenya talk about Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, or Eldoret — and for good reason, that's where a lot of the bigger gaming lounges are. But the actual requirements for running a real tournament have nothing to do with city size.

What a tournament actually needs

Not a named venue, not a big lounge with several consoles running side by side — just:

  • A group of players, whether that's your estate, your hostel, or a handful of regulars at a shared setup.
  • A phone with a browser to create the tournament and share the link.
  • A WhatsApp group (or whatever your group already uses) to drop the invite into.

That's it, whether you're doing it in Nairobi or in Nakuru, Thika, Kisii, Nyeri, or anywhere else in the country. The tool doesn't know or care where you are — it just needs an organizer and a link.

Setting it up wherever you are

  1. Create the tournament and pick a format — a knockout works well for a smaller, one-off group, a league if everyone wants to play everyone.
  2. Share the invite link in your group chat. Players join by typing their name — no accounts, no signups.
  3. Matches and results track themselves, so there's no need for a whiteboard, a shared spreadsheet, or someone redrawing a bracket by hand.

Why it works the same everywhere

The whole setup runs from a browser link rather than anything tied to a specific console, venue, or city — which is exactly why it doesn't matter whether your group is meeting at a lounge with five PS5s or sharing one console between friends in a smaller town. The organizing problem is identical either way: people need to know who plays who next and how the scores are being tracked, and a link solves that regardless of where you are.

Wherever you're playing, start your tournament and send the link to your group — no big-city setup required.
